When old carpet is removed from a room, there is
often a gap between the exposed timber floor and the existing
skirting board. We required a gap of between 8 to 12 mm from the
wall when a new floor is laid. Removing and lowering the skirtings
would fix the problem, but it would also be a time consuming job. The trim/ edging/
beading/ moulding
is used for covering up the gap between the existing skirting boards and the flooring.
